Putin to cleanup Kremlin?

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to free up Dmitry Rogozin from the post of official representative of Russian president dealing with problems of Kaliningradsky region regarding UN expansion, reported President's Press-Secretary Alexey Gromov in his interview to RIA “Novosti”.

According to the decree, Rogozin is freed up from his duties “due to successful completion of all the main tasks regarding the issue of Kaliningradsky region in the context of EU expansion.”

President's administration informed RIA “Novosti” that they are “quite satisfied with the result of Rogozin's work in this area.

At the same time, may of the remaining questions regarding Kaliningradsky region are still in need of constant control. From now on it will be conducted by the president's administration.

Also, Vladimir Putin signed a decree to free up Boris Pastukhov from his duties as chairman of the government's commission of the Russian Federation dealing with formal aspects of preparing drafts of contracts between Russia and Georgia. According to the information obtained by a “Rosbalt” correspondent, Abdul-Khakim Sultigov no longer represents Russian president in problems dealing with human rights and personal freedom in the Republic of Chechnya. President’s administration stated that the newly elected Chechen President Akhmad Kadirov is fully capable of handling these issues himself.

Official representatives of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin, Abdul-Khakim Sultigov and Boris Pastukhov have all successfully accomplished their main tasks. There was nothing left for them to do. Therefore, their dismissal was logical. This was reported by chairman of Duma’s committee of International Affairs Konstantin Kosachev, informs RBC.

Kosachev emphasized that Rogozin's job had been “major and extremely well-timed.” The actual decision to appoint official representatives to deal with the problems concerning Kaliningradsky region was incredibly appropriate. As far Pastukhov's job is concerned, Kasachev stated that Georgia's situation had undergone some changes recently. There is no longer a need for the commission to continue to work in the region. Russia needs to analyze its relationships with Georgia. Kasachev also mentioned that the last word should remain after the President.
