Putin: Russia Ready to Cooperate with All Countries Involved in Iraqi Conflict - 28 March, 2003

In search of a solution to the Iraqi crisis, "we are open to constructive co-operation with the international community, with all the countries involved in the conflict, including the United States," Vladimir Putin confirmed.

The US-Russian partnership gives Russia grounds to maintain an open dialogue, the President stressed.

The international efforts to solve the crisis through diplomacy have been frustrated, Vladimir Putin said at a Kremlin meeting with leaders of State Duma factions and deputy groups.

"The campaign launched nine days ago is becoming fierce and protracted," the Russian Head of State said.

Every hour brings increased casualties and destruction, claims civilian lives among old people, women and children and kills US, British and Iraqi soldiers, Vladimir Putin said.
