Norwegian Cruise Lines will join Royal Caribbean in offering voyages next year from East Coast port of Baltimore.
"We are delighted to welcome Norwegian Cruise Lines for what we hope is the beginning of a long, successful relationship," Gov. Martin O'Malley said in a statement.
"Norwegian clearly recognizes the unique strengths that Baltimore brings as a cruise departure port," the governor said. "From having a new, easily accessible cruise terminal to the many restaurants, shopping, and entertainment venues in this area, Baltimore has many options for visiting cruise travelers."
NCL's Norwegian Majesty will offer 10 seven-day cruises from Baltimore to Bermuda from June 2008 through August 2008. Its first cruise will set sail on June 21, 2008.
About 125,000 passengers embarked or disembarked from Baltimore last year, according to the port administration.
