Fabio Grosso on 119' and Alessandro Del Piero on 121' spelt the worst possible nightmare for a still strong German side waiting for the penalty shoot-out.
In the event, Italy had more shots on target but we have to thank Germany for a great World Cup, a friendly atmosphere, excellent organization and a second-to-none professionalism born to an attitude to listen and learn and to execute. Full marks to Germany for a great World Cup.
