The Shanghai Daily said Zhou, 44, also marked her with the word 'prostitute.' Li, 54, lived with Zhou for half a year before telling him she wanted to leave him, the Shanghai Daily said. He then held her captive in his home for three months and abused her before Li was rescued by her family, the paper said.

The Chinese court gave Zhou a two-year reprieve. His sentence could be commuted to life in prison, according to the AP.
