Playing its last match as a national team on Wednesday, Serbia-Montenegro ended with another loss, this time after squandering a lead in a 3-2 defeat to Ivory Coast.

Nothing had gone right for the team in Germany, beginning with an opening 1-0 loss to the Netherlands and followed by a 6-0 trouncing by Argentina, the AP reports.

Throughout the World Cup, it had to deal with problems ranging from injuries to squabbles over tactics and confrontations between players at training sessions.

Serbia-Montenegro conceded only one goal in 10 qualifying matches, but let in 10 in its three group matches. It had the worst first-round booking record, with 14 yellow and two red cards. It also had the team hit by injuries.
