The RIA-Novosti news agency quoted a fire service official as saying that there could be more victims under the rubble of the four-story building. Thirty of the building's residents were evacuated.
Ekho Moskvy radio reported that a natural gas line had just been hooked up to the building on Thursday, the AP reports.
