Malaysian jurists call for keeping Blair's wife out of local court

Cherie Blair, who is a prominent London lawyer, is seeking to represent Fawziah Holdings Sdn. Bhd. in a civil case that touches on transparency in government contracts.

The High Court on June 7 prohibited Fawziah from using Blair to argue the case in court, saying local lawyers are capable of handling the matter. Fawziah appealed the ruling in the Federal Court, where Blair appeared Wednesday, according to the AP.
