Fire breaks out at 13th century Gdansk church, destroying roof

Poland's TVN24 television broadcast pictures showing the roof engulfed in flames at St. Catherine's Church, a structure with elements dating back to the 13th century.

Firefighting teams sealed off the area and began to battle the flamesm, the AP reports.

TVN24 said witnesses saw workers repairing the roof earlier in the day, but that police could not immediately give a cause for the fire.
