China will treat child survivors of Beslan

The Chinese government says it will give medical treatment to children who survived a hostage-taking at a school in the Russian city of Beslan in 2004.

The pledge came in an agreement signed Thursday during a visit to Beijing by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov.

The Chinese government said it would send doctors to Russia to treat survivors of the September 2004 incident, in which gunmen took more than 1,000 hostages, many of them children.

The report didn't say how many children would be brought to China or what sort of treatment they would receive, AP reports.
