U.S. and France threaten sanctions against Syria

The United States and France circulated a draft resolution Tuesday threatening possible sanctions against Syria if it doesn't cooperate with a U.N. investigation into the assassination of Lebanon's former prime minister.

The draft resolution orders Syria to detain officials or individuals considered possible suspects in the Feb. 14 assassination of Rafik Hariri "and make them fully and unconditionally available" to the U.N. investigating commission, AP reports.
