Norilsk Nickel discloses statistics on palladium, platinum

MOSCOW. Sept 28. The Norilsk Nickel company, the world's largest producer of palladium and a major producer of platinum, in a Wednesday release, for the first time disclosed statistics on its production of such metals after a presidential decree declassified such information early in 2005.

The release, published on the company's website, said Norilsk Nickel produced 1.48 million Troy ounces (47.68 tonnes) of palladium and 355,000 ounces (11.4 tonnes) in platinum for the first half of 2005, Interfax reported.
