Romania going to International Court with sea shelf problem

Bucharest officially issued memorandum to International Court of Justice in Gaga. Romania proposing to share with Ukraine sea shelf and economic zones situated on it.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the official position of Kiev should be presented in the next 9 month. Juridical inquiry on this issue could stretch out up to two years.

Romania had already sent appellation to International Court, last autumn. Difficulties concerning Zmeini Island, Bucharest call it rock and Kiev call it island, the same time insisting on existence of a special economic zone around it, reports NTN.

Zmeini Iland is the biggest in Black sea. In soviet times there was a radiolocation station upon it. In 2002 it was demilitarized. Now the only militants on the island are Ukrainian frontier guards.
