Second soldier pleads guilty in the Iraq prisoner abuse scandal

Army Specialist Armin Cruz, of the military intelligence unit in Iraq has pleaded guilty to conspiracy and maltreatment of prisoners.

He was sentenced to reduction to private, 8 months hard labor and a bad conduct discharge in exchange for his testimony against the 27 others who are accused.

Cruz is the first of the military intelligence unit to face court martial. England and her co-defendants have maintained that they were under orders from MI to administer harsh treatment in something called P&E down (Pride and ego).

Cruz admitted to handcuffing the detainees and forcing them to crawl on the ground. He also said he was aware he was abusing them at the time.

More developing.
