UK sailors' fate still unclear

There has been discrepant data on what Iran intends to do with the eight British navy personnel detained early on Monday after they were accused of penetrating Iranian territory in the Shatt-al-Arab waterway between Iraq and Iran. The main source for confusion in Iran comes from the fact that it is a country of multiple power centers, quotes bbc.co.uk.

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi Tuesday conferred on phone with his British counterpart Jack Straw on the seizure of three British boats with eight Marines aboard, Xinhua reports.

Kharrazi said once Iran completed an investigation and the issue was clarified, proper decisions would be taken. Straw, on the other hand, noted that the penetration of the Iranian border was a simple navigational error.

Earlier on Tuesday it was said by the Iran TV, that British sailors would be prosecuted.
