GAZPROM wants exports via Bulgaria expanded

Russia's gas company Gazprom projects to increase annual exports through Bulgaria.

We plan to build new pipelines in Bulgaria, leading to Greece and Serbia, with annual exports set at 6 billion and 1,5 billion cubic meters respectively, Alexey Borisovich Miller, Chairman of OAO Gazprom Management Committee, explained in the Black Sea city of Varna.

Opportunities for improving the cooperation between Bulgaria and Russia in the gas sector were discussed by Miller and President Parvanov.

Miller pays a visit to the Black Sea city of Varna in his capacity of President of the European Business Congress.

Gazprom will extend the agreement with Bulgaria on gas transit by fifteen years.

Russia's Gazprom owns 50% stake in Bulgaria's largest gas supplier Overgas, which holds gas distribution licenses for twenty-six Bulgarian cities.
