A terrifying outbreak of cerebro-spinal meningitis has claimed the lives of 100 people and infected another 500 in Nigeria, according to local health authorities.
The outbreak in Jigawa State has registered a 20% death rate and is spreading to other areas. The authorities are not commenting on the outbreak, claiming that it is still spreading and that firm information is not yet available.
