Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri is to visit Moscow on April 20-24. The visit will focus on trade and economic relations.
Moscow considers that Russia and Indonesia have favourable conditions to develop cooperation in trade and economic, scientific-technological, humanitarian and military-technical spheres, Official Spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Yakovenko said.
In this regard, the Official Spokesman underlined the "important role", which the Russian-Indonesian joint commission for trade and economic and technical cooperation is playing in bilateral relations.
The expansion of the contractual-legal base is the other priority of the Russo-Indonesian relations. The forthcoming conclusion of the Declaration on the Bases of Friendship and Partnership between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Indonesia in the 21st Century and the signing of a package of other bilateral agreements will be an important contribution to this process.
