Border Officials from Russia, Estonia and Finland Meet to Discuss Prospects for Cooperation

Border officials from Russia, Estonia and Finland are meeting in Tallinn today. As a Rosbalt correspondent was informed by the press office of the Estonian Border Guard, representatives of the three governments are meeting to discuss problems of cooperation in the area of border control.

The Russian delegation is headed by Colonel Sergei Chepurny and Captain Mikhail Karpenko of the Federal Border Guard in the North-West Federal District. The Estonian delegation is headed by Lieutenant Colonel Uno Kaskpait and the Finnish delegation by Lieutenant Colonel Veza Uuskonen and Captain Kauko Lekhtinen.

This trilateral cooperation on border control is part of a protocol that was signed by heads of the Estonian, Finnish and Russian Border Guards in November 1994.
