Federation Council Speaker visits Mongolia

Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov considers Mongolia his second Motherland.

"I am happy that I can visit Mongolia again after 11 years," the speaker told journalists in the Buyant Uhaa airport, Ulan Bator. "I spend ten best years of my life in this country, as a member of a Soviet geological expedition in Mongolia. Therefore, I call Mongolia my second Motherland," Mironov said.

According to the speaker, he is scheduled to meet Mongolian President Natsagiin Bagabandi, parliamentary speaker Sanjbegzin Tumur-Ochir and Prime Minister Nambaryn Enkhbayar during his four-day visit to Mongolia.

"I hope these meetings will be a success and will boost the development of efficient cooperation between our countries," Sergei Mironov stressed.

On Friday, the Federation Council speaker will meet the Mongolian Prime Minister and parliamentary speaker. After that, he will visit the Mongolian State Scientific-Technological University. Sergei Mironov will be presented with a certificate, a badge of an Honorary Doctor and a gown of this university.

In the evening Mironov will give an interview with the Mongolian National TV.
