Russian Security Council head meets US ambassador to Moscow

The strategic stability and fight with international terrorism are discussed at the Thursday meeting in the Kremlin of head of the Russian Security Council Vladimir Rushailo and US ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow.

When opening the meeting, Rushailo pointed out that consultations of Russian and US foreign and defense departments had become more frequent recently. The Security Council is also participating in the constant dialog.

Rushailo said that he often spoke to Condoleezza Rice, both on the phone and during personal meetings at international forums. He will brief the American party on his visits to Georgia and China, he added.

Vershbow in his turn pointed out that their meeting was in line with fulfilling the Russian and US presidents' decisions taken at the recent summit in Moscow and St.Petersburg. Cooperation with the Russian Security Council is very important for the USA, he stressed.
