Next EurAsEC summit to be held in May 2003 in Dushanbe

The next summit of the Eurasian Economic Community, EurAsEC, will be held in May 2003 in Dushanbe, said the EurAsEC Secretary General Grigory Rapota at a press conference in Moscow on Tuesday.

He recalled that the interstate council of the EurAsEC countries' presidents meets once a year. As to the coming session of the interstate council of prime ministers, it is due in September in Astana, Rapota said.

The prime ministers of the "Five" meet twice a year. The session of the EurAsEC working body, the Integration committee of deputy prime ministers, meeting 4 times a year, is scheduled for July 26th in Bishkek. Another session will be held in autumn.

Rapota announced that the organizational and legal formation of the EurAsEC had been completed. During the press conference he presented the symbols of the new international organization. Now the EurAsEC activities are mainly conducted in the real economic sector, according to the Secretary General.
