Drug smugglers detained on Tajik-Afghan border

Russian border guards have detained six trespassers who tried to smuggle drugs across the Tajik-Afghan border. All of them are residents of Tajikistan, reported the press-service of the Russian border guards in the republic.

The trespassers were detained on Sunday when trying to cross over the Panj River to Afghanistan on a rubber boat. They have been handed over to the law-enforcement bodies of Tajikistan.

The press service also reported that a day earlier Russian border guards confiscated about 6 kilos of heroin and more than 7 kilos of raw opium on the Kalai-Khumbsky sector of the border unit.
