Relatives of victims of Tu-154 crash want to put up obelisk at site of accident

The relatives of the victims of the crash of the Tu-154 airliner have requested the German authorities for permission to erect a commemorative obelisk at the site of the crash, said the Civil Aviation State Service of the Russian Transportation Ministry on Thursday.

It noted that the government of Bashkiria proposes that a collective burial of the victims with the erection of a city memorial be organized. However, this question may be resolved only after the bodies of the victims have been identified and they have been brought to Ufa. Apart from that, some parents would like to bury their children individually.

Among the 69 victims of the air crash were 49 passengers from Bashkiria, it was specified by the Civil Aviation State Service.
