Svetogorsk-Imatra frontier post to start operating in July

The international Svetogorsk-Imatra fronier post at the Russo-Finn boarder is to start operating on July 3rd-4th. As the Finn Embassy reported on Wednesday the relevant agreement was reached at the sixth session of the intergovernmental Russo-Finn Commission. The Salla frontier post is expected to be opened in September this year. Moreover, the session agreed to create favourable conditions for regular timber trade carried out through all the check points. Topical customs problems were also resolved. Finland proposed to open all the check points, or at least international ones, for Russian scrap metal export. The Embassy also reported that Finland had brought up the issue on the permission to import to Russia the cargo that meet the EU standards and don't exceed 44 tons without specail authorization.
