Moscow Will Rebuff Terrorist Attacks From Afghanistan - 4 May, 2001

Igor Ivanov, Russia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, said in Delhi Friday that Russia and India will oppose any attacks of terrorists and religious extremists from the territory of Afghanistan. According to the Russian minister, Moscow and Delhi believe it necessary that the international community join hands in combating terrorism. The two countries intend to continue to closely coordinate related bilateral efforts and interact with other states. Ivanov also stressed that Moscow is interested in political settlement in Afghanistan under the auspices of the United Nations.
