Leader of the Lybian revolution Muammar Qadhafi was once invited to pay an official visit to Russia. The Russian leadership is still looking forward to receiving Mr. Qadhafi in Moscow in the near future, Vasily Sredin, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and State Secretary, told a news briefing Friday. The date of the visit is yet to be agreed on through diplomatic channels, he said. Russia's President Vladimir Putin has also been forwarded an invitation to visit Lybia, said Sredin. Russia believes that a Russo-Lybian summit meeting must be thoroughly prepared to promote bilateral cooperation, something its Lybian partners agree with, according to Sredin.
