India Calls On To Resume Peace-Settlement Process In Middle East

India calls on to resume the process of peaceful settlement in the Middle East. A representative of the Indian foreign ministry met with journalists on Friday and expressed his country's concern about an outburst of violence in the Middle East. "The only alternative to this dangerous situation is the establishment of a lasting peace," the diplomat said. Delhi, he noted, calls on everybody to abstain from provocative actions and violence as well as respect each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity. India invariably supports the process of peaceful settlement in the Middle East provided that all the political problems should be settled through a dialogue, the diplomat added. The foreign ministry representative also stressed that India continues to support the settlement of the Palestinian problem within the framework of the Middle East settlement on the basis of Resolutions 232 and 338 of the UN Security Council and the respective treaties and agreements.
