All agents of the Turkish intelligence service detained during the last year in the Stavropol territory were operating under the guise of employees of construction companies working under contracts in this North Caucasus region.

According to an executive officer of the Stavropol territory Department of the Federal Security Service, in less than one year the Federal Security Service department of the Stavropol territory detained and extradited in total 5 agents of the national intelligence service of Turkey. The Federal Security Service representative reported that Khakim Mutlugan, a Turkish undercover agent, gave himself up when felt that he was under surveillance. He acknowledged that he was obtaining information regarding military units stationed in the Stavropol territory areas bordering on other republics of the North Caucasus. In addition to military information the Turks were collecting economic information about the situation in the region. In particular, it was reported yesterday that another exposed agent, Nesrin Uslu, started her intelligence activity in the Stavropol territory in 1995. She was collecting information regarding the economic situation in the Stavropol territory while working as a translator in the "Idil" construction company.
