Israeli Foreign Minister Suggests That Russia, India, China, Japan Join Nato

Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres has suggested that Russia, India, China, and Japan join NATO. In his Friday article for the Swedish Dagens Nyheter newspaper Peres argues that NATO should include these countries while expanding eastward, since they "have sided with the USA and Europe" in their combat against terrorism. "The whole global defense system must be adjusted for countering terrorism". "NATO's immense resources might be employed to fight against today's perils instead of against yesterday's foes", Israeli Foreign Minister writes in his article. Peres believes that the new jeopardy has no borders. "None of us, he underscores, is aspiring to turn combat against terrorism into a war or pretext to a war against a religion, people, or certain groups".
