Tajik President, CIS Security Council Secretaries Discuss Afghan Situation

The situation around Afghanistan is currently being discussed at the meeting between Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov and the Security Council /SC/ Secretaries of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) states party to the CIS Collective Security Treaty, sources in the Tajik presidential administration reported. The other day, an emergency session of SC heads of the CIS Collective Security Treaty member-states was held in Dushanbe. Participating in the session were Security Council Secretaries from six countries, observers from five other CIS states, as well as Chief of the CIS Anti-terrorist Centre, which was established this year, Boris Melnikov. That was the first forum of the kind, which was held in the zone in the immediate proximity to the Afghan theatre of war.
