Washington stands by its position concerning protection of Albanians' rights in Yugoslavia in the light of the recent terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, US Ambassador to Moscow Alexander Vershbow said at a Friday press conference. According to him, Albanians were victims of extremism and cruelty under the Milosevic rule. The ambassador stressed at the same time that Washington had always been tough with extremists, wherever they are. When Albanian extremists used force against the democratic Macedonian government, the US "took another course", he noted. Washington will spare no effort to prevent use of force by Albanian extremists against the Macedonian state.
