Only Popular Assembly Can Decide On Afghanistan's Future

It is only a representative popular assembly of the Afghani nation (Loya Jirga) that has the right to form the future government of Afghanistan, said Ambassador of the Islamic state of Afghanistan to Russia Abdul Wahab Assefi. According to him, only this traditional institution which is usually convened in the most dramatic periods in the history of Afghanistan and made up of authoritative representatives of all stratas of society, is vested the right to decide on the future of Afghanistan after the Taliban rule. The Afghani diplomat ruled out any participation of Taliban in this process. The ambassador emphasized that the entire process of the government formation must be under the UN aegis.
