On Thursday night the Ambassadors of Russia and Israel in Berlin took part in a formal function held in memory of the victims of the Crystal Night - the mass Jewish pogroms in Nazi Germany on November 9, 1938. As the RIA Novosti correspondent reports, president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany Paul Spiegel was present at the function organised by the Jewish commune of Berlin. During the 48-hour mass Jewish pogroms in November 1938 the Nazis killed about 100 people, burnt down 190 and ravaged several hundreds of other synagogues, and robbed 8,000 shops owned by Jews.
