Regional Co-Sponsorship To Dominate Russian-U.S. Relations: Putin

Russian-US contacts must make an emphasis on regional co-sponsorship in the face of shared dangers and challenges, said President Vladimir Putin as he met at the Russian Embassy with top spokesmen of US political and business circles, Thursday night. Such teamwork is a must now for a just and lasting Afghan and Mideastern crisis settlement. It is equally necessary to determine a new level of teamwork for joint European security decision-making. As for Russia-NATO relations, Russia intends to work for equal partnership with the alliance. Russia is willing to go as far as NATO intends to meet it, and to an extent to which it can reckon with Russian national interests, said the President.
