Moscow To Host International Youth Games Of CIS Countries, Baltics And Russia

Moscow plans to run International Youth Games of the CIS countries, the Baltics and Russia. The budget of the Russian capital has already assigned target funds for these ends. The games scheduled for June 14-24, 2002 will include 16 sports. All the largest sports complexes and stadiums of Moscow will be involved. Sportsmen under 17 will be allowed to compete in the games. Collective applications to participate in the competitions should be filed till March 1, and individual ones till May 25, 2002. Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov has been elected chairman of the Games' organising committee.
