Russian Interior Ministry To Cooperate With Chinese Public Security Ministry

Russian Interior Minister Boris Gryzlov and Chinese Public Security Minister Jia Chunwang have signed an agreement on cooperation between their ministries in Moscow. The ministers discussed a number of issues related to the consolidation of cooperation on the global, regional and frontier levels in various fields of the manhunt and investigative activity. The negotiations were part of a visit by the Chinese delegation at the invitation from the Russian side. The fight against terrorism and transnational crime became a priority at the meeting. The fight against illegal drug trafficking, illegal migration and economic crimes was also discussed. The meeting sides have also reached agreement to hold in the first six months of 2002 a session of frontier bodies of the Russian and Chinese Interior Ministries and Public Security bodies.
