Cyprus-Rosoboronexport Talks In Moscow

Negotiations between a delegation of the Cyprus Defense Ministry and managers of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosoboronexport will strengthen the latter's position as the largest supplier of arms and military equipment to Cyprus. This was said by representatives of Rosoboronexport on Wednesday after talks with a delegation of the Cyprus Defense Ministry, led by its chief Socrates Hasikos. A Rosoboronexport representatives said that it was a "familiarisation meeting", which passed in "an atmosphere of mutual understanding and trust, which is typical of Russian-Cypriot relations in general". "The sides discussed an outlook for the further development of relations between Russia and Cyprus in the military-technical sphere", he said. "Military-technical cooperation between Russia and Cyprus is deeply rooted and is conducted in line with the March 21, 1996 agreement", reminded the Rosoboronexport representative.
