Russian Premier Receives U.S. Secretary Of Energy

Spencer Abraham, US Secretary of Energy, is in Moscow on a routine visit. Russia's Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov received him today, reports Tatyana Razbash, prime-ministerial press spokesperson. The negotiators highlighted spectacular progress of bilateral partnership in all spheres, power industry being no exception--suffice it to mention the implementation taking start of an ambitious joint project for the Caspian mainline consortium. Messrs. Kasyanov and Abraham pointed out active investment by leading US-based companies in Russian oil- and gasfield development--in particular, $12 billion invested for now in project Sakhalin 1.
