Sitting Of Joint Collegium Of Russian, Belarussian Defense Ministers Due In Moscow

On Thursday Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov will hold in Moscow a joint sitting of the joint collegium of the Russian and Belarussian defense ministries, reports the press service of the Russian defense establishment. On the agenda of the collegium are -- problems of Russian-Belarussian military integration regarding the two defense ministers' implementation of a plan of priority steps towards fulfilment of the Treaty of the Belarus-Russian Union, approval of the 2002 plan of joint work, as well as topical questions of strengthening the defense capability of the Union and strategic security. Joint collegiums of the two ministers are held alternatively in Minsk and Moscow. The preceding sitting was held on April 17 of this year in Minsk under the chairmanship of Belarussian Defense Minister Lieutenant-General Leonid Maltsev.
