International Prize Awarded To Russian Mathematician

Russian mathematician Alexander Manin has been given the King Faisal International Prize which was established by Saudi Arabia. The 1 million-dollar award is given annually in 5 categories. Alexander Manin and another US scientist have become laureates in the category "for scientific achievements" - for a 40-year contribution in mathematics. At present Alexander Manin heads the Max Planck Institution of Mathematics in Bonn.
