18th Session Of Russian-Japanese Fishing Commission Discusses Fishery Prospects

The 18th session of the Russian- Japanese mixed fishing commission is currently underway. The information and analytical centre of the Russian State Fishery Committee reported that participants in the session discuss fishery prospects in exclusive economic zones of Russia and Japan. Talks on assigning fishing quotas for 2002, determining regions and terms of fishing in 200-mile zone, preserving and optimal use of fish resources will be held in the course of the session. The Russian delegation at the session is headed by deputy chairman of the State Fishery Committee Yuri Moskaltsov and the Japanese side is represented by deputy head of the Japanese fishing department Kawamoto Seiji.
