200 immigrants drown in Caribbean

Tragedy again besets groups of people who were running after the illusion called “The American Dream”. This time it was a group of at least 200 people who had left Haiti, sailing for the USA.

The first boat, with around 150 people on board, left Haiti one month ago. The second, with 63, left the following day. Between then and now, Hurricane Michelle passed over them and the result is that they have not been seen since.

People who emigrate to the USA in this way always contact family members to inform them that they have arrived safely. In this case, not one of the people on board either vessel has been in touch.

Meanwhile, another boat has been found floating, empty, which was reported to have been carrying around thirty Cubans.
