Uzbek Terrorist Detained In Czech Republic

Salai Madaminov, who was detained yesterday at Prague airport, had a passport for homeless issued by the Norwegian authorities, said Friday Eva Brozova, a Prague police spokeswoman. Uzbek law-enforcers say Madaminov is one of the Uzbek terrorist leaders. He is also known as Muhammad Salikh. Madaminov was detained on an Interpol warrant. Brozova added that Interpol had had Madaminov on the wanted list since 1993. The spokeswoman confirmed that a city court judge was currently in the Prague-4 prison on the Kongresova street, where Madaminov was kept. Within the next few hours, the judge may decide if Madaminov should be transferred from the pretrial detention cell to an interim custody isolation ward.
