Kiev views as "provocative" the words of Russian State Duma deputy Viktor Ilyukhin of the KPRF faction on ostensible arms supplies by Ukraine to Chechnya and Afghanistan. This was said at a briefing in Kiev by Igor Dolgov, official spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. The Ukrainian diplomat noted that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry does not consider Ilyukhin's statement as an official position of the Russian Federation. "Kiev resolutely turns down this kind of accusations and expects explanations from official Russian representatives very soon", said Igor Dolgov. The diplomat specially stressed that this declaration of the Duma deputy is groundless and wholly devoid of factual proofs.
