Moscow Worried About New Manifestation Of Terrorism - Extremists' Attack On Indian Parliament Building

Moscow is seriously worried about a new defiant manifestation of terrorism - an attack on the Indian parliament building by extremists, a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry's Information and Press Department said on Thursday. He said the Russian-Indian Moscow Declaration on International Terrorism, signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on November 6, emphasised that there can be no justification for terrorist acts, whatever their motives - political, ideological, philosophical, racial, ethnic, religious or other. On Thursday morning, a group of armed people, supposedly belonging to an extremist organisation, made an attempt to attack the Indian parliament where the country's highest legislative body was in session. Several people were killed and injured in a shootout with security forces.
