Two hundred militants from the Al-Qaida organisation were killed and 25 taken prisoner during the operation in the Tora Bora area (Spinghar mountain system in the extreme east of Afghanistan). This was stated by Haji Mohammad Zaman, commander of the Pashtu troops in the Nangarhar province which borders on Pakistan. According to him, the operation for destroying the last big stronghold of the Taliban's resistance has been completed. At the same time he pointed out that several hundred militants had gone to the mountains in the direction of the Pakistani border. Nor has terrorist No. 1 Osama bin-Laden been found. According to the NNI news agency, Pakistan has established 300 new permanent check-points at the border with Afghanistan for detaining Talibs and foreign mercenaries who are trying to penetrate the territory of the country. One hundred militants have already been detained.
