Germany, Great Britain And Italy To Promote Russia's Early Accession To WTO

Germany, Italy and Great Britain intend to officially address the European Commission with a request to promote Russia's early accession to the World Trade Organisation /WTO/. Russian finance minister Alexei Kudrin said as much Tuesday at a 6th session of the Russo-Italian council on economic, industrial and currency-financial cooperation. Kudrin also said that specific plans and timeframe would soon be fixed. According to a RIA Novosti source in the council, Russia will be offered an opportunity to set the desirable timeframe of its accession to the WTO, which would determine the deadline for these plans.
