Prominent Taliban Leader Arrested In Pakistan

Pakistani border guards have arrested the first prominent Taliban leader, one Aminullah Amin, who commanded border guards in Spinboldak, a town 7 km away from the Pakistani border. According to The Frontier Post newspaper, Amin was arrested at Chaman, a checkpoint on the Afghan-Pakistani border, Baluchistan on Thursday. Right now, he is being interrogated by counterintelligence officers. After that, he will probably be handed over to the new Afghan administration, said a spokesman for the border guards. Until Thursday, Pakistani authorities only netted regular Taliban soldiers and Al-Qaida militants. Amin is their first prominent catch so far.
