Preliminary Agreement On Transfer Of Shares Of Armenian Enterprises To Russia To Be Signed In Yerevan

A preliminary agreement on the transfer of shares of a number of Armenian enterprises to Russia as payment of Armenia's state debt is to be signed in Yerevan on Saturday. It will be signed by the co-chairmen of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation - Vice-Premier of the Russian government Ilya Klebanov and Armenian Defence Minister Serzh Sarkisyan. The day before his arrival in Yerevan Ilya Klebanov stated that the question of rescheduling the Armenian debt to Russia could be decided before the end of next March. Today Armenia's state debt to Russia stands at about 100 million dollars. The bilateral commission must determine which enterprises of Armenia may be of interest to Russia. It is supposed, in particular, that shares of some enterprises of Armenia's military-industrial complex may be transferred to the Russian side.
